Margaret Hodges, 80, Kennedy, AL, went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Margaret was born on March 11, 1946, in Kennedy, Alabama, to Gray and Effie Trull. She was a devoted daughter, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, and a cherished friend to many.

Known affectionately as Maggie, she was a woman of many talents and interests. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, reading, completing crossword puzzles, and attending revivals. She had a gift for making others feel at ease and was someone people naturally trusted, always offering a listening ear and thoughtful guidance.

Above all, Maggie cherished her family. They were the center of her world, and she loved them deeply and unconditionally. She remained a constant source of strength and support, standing by her loved ones through every season of life.

A devoted, God-fearing woman, She was guided by her strong faith. She was passionate about sharing God’s word and took great joy in teaching her family about his love and goodness. Her legacy of faith, love, and kindness will continue to live on in all who knew her.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Gray and Effie Trull, her three brothers, Banks Trull, Bob Trull, and Grafton Trull, her sister, Ethel Vann, her daughter, Renee Steelmon, and her son, Jimmy Agerton.

Margaret is survived by her loving family, her brother Bill (Rita) Trull, Kennedy, AL; her sons, Phillip (Alex) Hodges, Kennedy, AL; Donny (Marnie) Weaver, Florence, AL; her grandchildren, Samantha Brand, Kennedy, AL; Justin (Chasity) Bowen, Vernon, AL; Emily (Josh) Gusewelle, Megan (Dustin) Smith, Lindsey (Sean) Talbert, of Arkansas; Chelsea Steelmon, Kennedy, AL; Sarah, Clarissa, Phillip, Lee, and Caroline Hodges, Kennedy, AL; Alex (Torie) Weaver, Florence, AL; Alyssa (Jonathan) Thompson, Florence, AL, Garrett Weaver, Florence, AL; her twenty-three great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Jeff Long officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. A graveside service will follow at Meadow Branch Cemetery in Kennedy, Alabama. 

Pallbearers will be Phillip Hodges, Rusty Weathers, Justin Bowen, Conner Phelps, Triton Sanford and Phillip Hodges, II.
