Marilyn Cook, 76, of Millport, AL, passed away on January 14, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Columbus, MS. with Dr. Bill Hurt and Bro. Billy Carl Sullivan officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Paynes Chapel Cemetery in Millport, Alabama under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.

Marilyn was born on August 2, 1946 in Fayette County, Alabama to Avery and Maudine (Burrage) Gray. She was one of ten children. She met and married her husband, Richard and they had one child, Teresa and resided in Millport. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family. She was retired from United Technologies in Columbus, MS. and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She loved to travel with trips to the mountains to see the bears and she especially liked looking at eagles on trips to Guntersville, AL. Her favorite thing was spending time with her grands Sieara, Zack and Isabella Grace and her great-grands LynnLee and RiverLee. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard Cook, daughter Teresa Taylor, sisters Carolyn Hunnicutt, Gail Perkins and Diane Hinds (Stan), brothers Mickey Burrage and Norman Burrage (Karen), 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law Dale Taylor,  sisters, Jackie Wilkinson and Joanne Barrett and brothers Jerry, Larry and Johnny Burrage.

Pallbearers will be Zack Taylor, Jamie Lindsey, Andrew Taylor, Mike Tinker, Norman Barrage, Mickey Burrage and Jon Barrett.
