Marron Ruth Wharton, 67, of Millport, Alabama, passed away on November 21, 2020 at her residence. Funeral services will be Monday, November 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Wharton and Bro. Doug Wharton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Interment following the service at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Kennedy, AL.

Marron was born on November 29, 1952 to John Allen Stokes and Velina Agnus (Bobbitt) Stokes. She loved to cook for her family and her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Edwin Wharton, son, Garry Lynn Wharton, daughters Melinda Ann Hawkins (Stacey), Tania Michelle Willard (Brian) and Ashley Forehand (Paul). Sisters Barbara Jewell (Larry), Karen Holliman (Ken), Judy Wiggins and Hilda Holliman (Robert), 18 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a god-child, Jaci Emily Williams.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Troy Dayton Gann and a grandson, Bradley Austin Hawkins.

Pallbearers will be Stacey Hawkins, Quinn Wharton, Britt Forehand, Shula Williams, Barry Holliman and Craig Holliman, Honorary pallbearer is Rodney Gayles.
