Martha Blanton, 73, of Millport, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at her residence. She passed from this life surrounded by the love of family and the memories of a life well lived.Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to service from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Millport, Alabama.

Martha Beard- Blanton, of Fernbank, Alabama, was born on August 30, 1952. She was known by those who loved her as a woman with a warm heart and a gentle spirit. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Her home was a place where people felt welcome, where laughter was shared, and where love was always present.

She shared a life of love and companionship with her husband, Jimmy Blanton. Together they built a family and a lifetime of memories that will continue to live on through those who knew and loved her. Martha found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life—spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren grow, and caring deeply for those around her. She had a way of making people feel seen and valued, and her kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Though her passing leaves a deep sorrow in the hearts of her family and friends, her life stands as a beautiful reminder of the love she gave so freely and the legacy she leaves behind. Martha will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Leland Beard and Billie Fay Booth Howton; and sister, Rebecca Merritt.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Blanton; son, Wyatt Dolan; step-sons, Andy Dolan, Roger Dolan, and Gary Blanton; step-daughters, Tammy Howard and Lori Wright; brother, Charles Beard; and granddaughter, Nadia Dolan; and great-granddaughter, Briana Hamrick; and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Cade Weathers, Tyler Weathers, Gage Weathers, and Gary Blanton, Kevin Blanton and Jake Weathers.
