Marvin Lee Leonard, 80, passed away on December 8, 2023 at Arbor Wood Health and Rehab in Reform, Alabama. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. with Bro. Jeff Long and Bro. Phillip Campbell officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will follow at Higdon Church of God Cemetery in Kennedy, AL.

Marvin was born on September 9, 1943 in Millport, AL. to Thomas Burby and Addean Leonard. Marvin was a life-long resident of Lamar and Pickens County. He was a cabinet maker in the Millport area for years. He was a Jack-of-all-trades and loved wood working and making candles. He was a security guard at the University of Alabama until his retirement. His favorite scripture was Isaiah 40:31.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, a son, William Leonard, a sister, Linda Kelly and two brothers, Vance and Olen Leonard. He is survived by daughters Lyrinda Welch, Funisha Leonard, a son, Jeff Leonard, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and special friend and companion Alice Ann McCutcheon.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Rushing, Michael Foster, Gary Welch and Andrew Welch, Michael Dison and Phillip Campbell.
