Mary Alice Watson, 104, formerly of Millport, AL. passed away on August 16, 2021 in Decatur, GA. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Holly Grove Cemetery in Millport, AL at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Chris Wriley officiating. There will be a visitation at 10:00 a.m. at the Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel.

Ms. Mary Alice Young Watson was born March 8, 1917, to the late Rev. Taylor Young and Mrs. Sarah Foster Young. She departed her earthly life on August 16, 2021, surrounded by loved ones, peacefully in her sleep.

Mary Alice was united in holy matrimony to the late Tommie Lee Watson. Although she never had any biological children of her own, she claimed many. She loved her family and spending time with her "sweet great-grand babies" as she affectionally called them. She loved going to get milkshakes and happy meals with them. They spoiled her as much as she spoiled them.

Mary Alice was a joy to be around. She always kept everyone laughing with her humorous and spunky personality. She loved dressing nice and keeping her hair done. Mary Alice was housekeeper for Dr. William Davis and his family for many years.

Mary Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers and three sisters.

She leaves to cherish her sweet and beautiful memories: one granddaughter, Lisa Watson of Decatur, Ga, one goddaughter, Icie Wriley, 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, Icie, Hallie, CJ, Madysen, Meagan, and Jaden all of Millport, Al, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

If it is raining, the service will be held at Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m.
