Mary Catherine Gilliam, 87, of Kennedy, Alabama passed away on January 15, 2021 at Druid-City Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. There will be a funeral service for family on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama with Bro. Raymon Spann officiating.

Mary was born on August 6, 1933 in Fayette, Alabama and raised in Stough Community. She was born to Jesse and Dullie Rainey. She had two brothers and one sister, Curtis Rainey, Woemack Rainey, and Doris Ann Selman. She married William Leslie Gilliam from Kennedy, Alabama on November 14, 1952. They had three boys, William Gilliam, Barney Dexter Gilliam, and Danny Wayne Gilliam. She graduated from Fayette High School in 1951. She graduated cosmetology school and worked as a cosmetologist for many years in Kennedy. She loved her family very much. She was a member of Meadow Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Kennedy, Alabama for many years.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, William Leslie Gilliam, and parents, Jesse Elijah Rainey and Dullie Emily Goodman Rainey. She survived by her sons, William Bill Gilliam (Sharon), Danny Wayne Gilliam (Nadya), Barney Gilliam (Donna), her sister, Doris Ann Selman, brothers, Curtis Rainey, Woemack Rainey, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jason Gilliam, Chance Gilliam, Trace Gilliam, Clinton Gilliam, David Selman, Randy Rainey, and Greg Rainey.
