Mary Helen Newell Cole, 92, of Columbus, MS passed away on July 11, 2021 at her residence. Funeral services will be July 14, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. with Bro. Lynn Terry officiating and Bro. Tom Waller assisting. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Millport, AL. under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cole was born October 5, 1928 in Steens, MS to the late John and Alma Johnson Newell. She was employed and retired from United Technology Corporation in Columbus, MS. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Columbus.

In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her siblings, Homer Newell, Minnie Newell Seay, Jala Newell Kyle, Hobert Newell, Geneva Newell Hudson, Jeanette Newell Mooneyhan, Willie May Newell Traywick, James Newell, Ervin Newell, Fred Newell, Floy Kate Newell Beard and granddaughter Robin Richards McAdams.

She is survived by her daughters, Carole Cole Richards (Dwayne), Millport, AL. and Charlotte Cole Foster, Killen, AL., brother J.W. Newell (Billie), Columbus, MS, 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, sister-in-law Edwina Gilliam and a host of dear friends.

Pallbearers will be Brad Richards, Colton Richards, Nick Willis, Cage Willis, Preston Turner and Blake Newton.
