Mary Laughmiller Davis, age 92, went to be with her Lord Jesus July 7, 2025. Graveside service only will be July 11 at 11:00 am at Millport City Cemetery under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.

Mary was born on September 27, 1932 in Falkville, Alabama and was a 1950 graduate of Falkville High School. She worked in the accounting department at Monsanto in Decatur where she met the love of her life Billy. She and Billy enjoyed square dancing and bowling. They were married in 1967 and were married for 47 years when he passed away in 2015.

Mary enjoyed being a homemaker and raising a family. She made sure her children knew Jesus and the Bible. Mary loved her Lord Jesus and was a faithful member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa for 40 years where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, sang in the choir, went on youth retreats, and participated in outreach activities. She volunteered at Sav-a-Life in Tuscaloosa and the Isaiah 58 Ministry packing suitcases for women in crisis during her time living in Wetumpka. Mary was a woman of prayer and never stopped serving others. After she moved to Pine Valley Retirement Center in 2022, she enjoyed welcoming new residents and always invited them to participate in the various activities.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Billy Rupert Davis; parents Malcolm and Freddie Mae Laughmiller; and her sisters, Etha Mae Garner, Evelyn Helms, and Martha Byrd.

She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Johnson (Mike); son Greg Davis (Renee); three grandchildren, Lindsey Mayer, Michael Johnson, and Alaina Davis; and her brother David Laughmiller (Jane).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Isaiah 58 Ministry, 6868 Central Plank Road, Wetumpka, Alabama 36092.
