Mary P. Gilliam, 92, formally of Millport, AL., passed away on July 24, 2021 at the Long Term Care facility in Fayette, AL.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. with Bro. Sonny McLellan and Bro Terrance Cleghorn officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Belk, Alabama.

Mary was born on December 27, 1928 to James Dave Faulkner and Ludie Mae (Eads) Faulkner in Fayette, AL. She was a wonderful Godly Christian woman. She loved her sons and grandchildren so much. Mary enjoyed working in her garden and was so proud of her flowers. She loved going to her church, Millport Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Sandra Gilliam, sisters Opal Harris Prescott and Eleanor Faulkner Barrett, brothers Ottis Faulkner, David Lincoln Faulkner, Verdo Faulkner (Virgie), B.W. Faulkner (Scrooch), Edward Stewart Faulkner, Jimmy Wayne Faulkner and great-grandson Hugh Hindman.

She is survived by sons Jerry Wayne Gilliam and Lane Gilliam (Joyce), one sister, Madgaline Henderson, grandchildren Jennifer Gilliam, Nicole Gilliam, Krisha Deavours (Dan), Sydney Hindman (Daniel), great-grandchildren Amanda Nance (Brian), Jason Lawson, Aubrey and Lainey Deavours, great-great grands Tanner Kate Nance, Everleigh Lawson and Ryleigh Lawson.

Pallbearers will be John Hildreth, Lane Andrews, Briggs Andrews, Jimmy Rogers, Terry Oswalt and Ottis Henderson.
