Mary Ella Watson, 94, passed away on July 25, 2023 at her residence. Visitation will be Friday evening, August 4, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Millport, AL.with Rev. Jerry Bridges and Pastor Kevin Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Watson was born on October 4, 1928 to John Anthony and Bessie May Shanklin. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Judson Bridges and Willie G. Watson and two sisters, Jean Alice Morton and Ollie Shanklin.

She is survived by a brother, John Shanklin (Margaret), daughters Bessie Gardner and Marie Henry (Patrick), a son, Rev. Jerry Bridges (Betty), 9 grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
