Mary E. Weathers, 88, formally of Kennedy, AL passed away December 19, 2020 at Fayette Medical Long Term Care Center.  Graveside services for family and friends will be held at Meadow Branch Cemetery in Kennedy, AL. on December 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home. The family has asked that masks are worn and social distancing observed.

Mary was born on March 2, 1932 to Doc Franklin Rushing and Dessie (Cooper) Rushing in Kennedy, Alabama. She worked for many years at the Westinghouse plant near Reform, AL. and in the garment industry. Mary was known for her canning of garden vegetables; especially her green beans. She loved to shop and travel the area with her friends and family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Weathers, a brother John Thomas Rushing and sisters Connie Foster, Geneva Anderson and Genea Haney. She is survived by her two sons, Tommy Weathers (Shirley) and Ronnie Weathers (Janice), a sister, Virginia Henderson, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Matt Weathers, Landon Swindle, Garrett Swindle, Kevin Todd, Sandy Davis, Eddie Hall and Brandon Muir.
