Michael Wayne Gartman, 73, of Millport, AL, passed away on September 16, 2024, at his residence. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Springhill Baptist Church in Millport, AL, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Springhill Baptist Church in Millport, AL, at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Andy Parrish officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:00-2:00 p.m. before the funeral service. Burial will follow at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery in Millport, AL.

Mike graduated from Millport High School in 1969. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United State Navy. He served two years active duty and an additional six years as a member of the Naval Reserve. He was a Vietnam veteran. Mike was a member of Springhill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was married to his loving wife Brenda for 54 years and retired from Robertson-Ceco after 38 years of service. Mike was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His family was the light of his life and he was an avid outdoor enthusiast.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elton Wesley and Wilma Gay Gartman, his daughter, Carrie Ann Gartman Hardin and brother Dan Gartman. Mike is survived by his wife, Brenda and daughter Sacha Dawn Dawkins (Ken), 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Dakota Dawkins, Ty Dawkins, Bayleigh Dawkins, Jackson Hardin, Mason Hardin and Reagan Hardin. Honorary pallbearers are Springhill Baptist Church deacons and the Men's Sunday School Class. A thank you to special friends Ernest Campbell, Steve Latham and Tommy Graham.
