Myra Rose Dixon, passed away September 14, 2022. Services will be Saturday September 17, 2022 at New Grove Baptist Church at 11:00 am. Rev. Michael Brock will be officiating. The body will lie in state one hour before services. She was born June 27, 1960, in Millport, AL. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Holly Grove Baptist Church. She later served faithfully as a member of New Grove Baptist Church as a Sunday School teacher, Matron President and on the Usher Board. Most recently, she joined Mount Olive Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher.
She was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Alfred Lee Dixon on February 18, 1981. Together they raised two sons. Myra loved playing on her computer, talking on the phone with her good friends, watching football, especially her beloved Auburn Tigers and most of all she loved being Memaw to her beautiful granddaughters. She finished her earthly journey on Wednesday September 14, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Regional Medical Center in Columbus, MS. She was loved by many and will be missed deeply by her family, friends and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Lee Dixon, her parents, father George Lester Ogden, mother Robbie Lee Sturdivant Ogden, three brothers George Lester Ogden Jr., Bobby Ogden, Billy Ray Ogden and five sisters Charlene Ogden Woods, Ilene Ogden Thomas, Margaret Irene Ogden, Dorothy Jean Ogden and Sharon Rena Ogden.
Myra leaves to cherish her beautiful memories her two loving and devoted sons, Benjamin Ogden and Byron Dixon (Montez), her sisters Glenda Blanchard, Lynnette Ogden, Bridgette Ogden Glover (Gary) and Melody Cobb, her two special granddaughters Symira Dixon and Kyla Dixon, one uncle Troy Sturdivant, brothers-in-law Theart Dixon, Jr, Ernest Branyon, Thomas Pirtle, Joseph Shaw, Rick Kemp and Michael Brock, sisters-in-law Arabell Branyon, Luster Ree Pirtle, Barbara Wilson, Sally Shaw, Linda Faye Kemp and Luretta Brock and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Brock, Josh Brock, Willie Sudduth, Joey Shaw, Nick Shaw and Myles Vigne
