Nancy Rector, 79, of Millport, AL, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at her residence in Millport, AL. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama with Bro. Melvin Mordecai officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Millport, AL. under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.

Nancy was a loving wife of 58 years as well as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She graduated from Vernon High School then attended business school. Before having children, she worked with State Termite and Pest Control. Nancy loved Jesus, her church, her community and her friends. She served at Fernbank Baptist Church in a custodial role as well as secretary/treasurer. She attended Millport Baptist the last several years of her life. She enjoyed her grandchildren and her puppies, Zoey and Hank.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Douglas Rector, a sister, Vickey Karen Sanford and an infant brother, Terry Wayne McNees. She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Rector Madison (Jeff), Jasper, AL and Brandi Nicole Rector (Bubba Cantrell), Millport, AL. Four grandchildren, Pressley, Lucey, Brantley and Mallory, and a sister, Shirley Logan.

The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice and her care team Heather Harcrow, Cartinia Knox and Jordan Pike as well as Lisa Trull, her home caregiver, for the wonderful care she received.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Darrell Brewer, Dale McNees, Bryan Gault, Mark Cantrell, Danny Hutcherson and Dale Gartman.
