Peggye Hicks Faulkner, 88, passed away peacefully at home in Reform, Alabama, on September 2, 2026.

Peggye was born in Alabama on March 21, 1938, to Simpson and Vera Hydrick Hicks. She attended Liberty High School before transferring to Lee High School in Columbus, where she graduated with high honors. Peggye was first married to Charles Terry, and together they had two daughters, Carmen and Joy, and a son, Charles. After their divorce, she married Robert Faulkner many years later. Peggye loved her family deeply and treasured the time she spent with them. She also enjoyed researching her ancestry, spending many happy hours learning about her family’s history. A voracious reader, Peggye maintained a wonderful library that reflected her lifelong love of learning and literature. Peggye worked in Tuscaloosa for most of  life with Helping Hands Therapy as their bookkeeper. Peggye lived the last several decades of her life in Reform, Alabama. She will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her kindness, compassion, and love touched the lives of all who knew her.

Peggye was preceded in death by her son, Charles; her husband, Robert Faulkner; her parents, Simpson and Vera Hydrick Hicks; and her brother, Eugene Hicks.

She is survived by her daughters, Carmen and Joy; her grandchildren, Kelli, Eric, and Jyssica; and her great-grandchild, Peyton as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 1pm on September 5, 2026, at Antioch Presbyterian Church in Millport. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. the same day.

Pallbearers will include Paul Whitten, Eric Whitten, and Ian Griffin.Peggye’s family is grateful for the love, friendship, prayers, and kindness shown to her throughout her life. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her family finds comfort in the many memories they shared and in the enduring legacy of love she leaves behind. Peggye will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends—in the stories they tell, the ancestry she so lovingly researched, and the books and cherished memories she leaves behind.

Rest peacefully, Peggye. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
