Perry Wilson, 93, of Kennedy ,Alabama passed away on June 19, 2021 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Visitation will be Friday evening, June 25, 2021 at 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama. A graveside service will follow on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at New Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Kennedy, Alabama with Bro. Michael Brock officiating.

Perry (Bo) Wilson was the third child born to the union of the late Ethel and James V. Wilson on May 25, 1928. He was proceeded in death by his brothers, James, M.L., Willie, and Peter.

Perry graduated from Lamar Training School in 1948. He was an active member of New Grove Baptist Church and sang in the choir. For many years, he was also a member of Pearson Lodge 232. He worked in various jobs and retired from Arvin Industries in 1998 (Fayette, AL). He later served 21 years on Kennedy's Town Council and retired in 2020 at age 92.

Perry married Mary Ellen Cooper on December 4, 1949. He leaves to cherish seven children from their union: Perry, Birmingham, AL; Larry, Birmingham, AL; Maxine, Warner Robins, GA;  Judia Wilson (Reginal Pegues), Atlanta, GA; Jean Wilson-Sykes, Tuscaloosa, AL; Brenda Wilson, Charlotte, NC; Douglas (Tonya), Northport, AL; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grand-children; and one aunt, Ernestine Wilson of Kennedy.

Perry also leaves Linda Wilson, Donnie Poole, Jason Poole, Greg Poole, Rebecca Poole-Carter, Lafayette Poole, Raymond Fowler, Tim Barnes, along with a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
