Phillip Ray Eaves, Jr., age 57, of Millport, Alabama, sailed home to the comforting arms of Jesus on Thursday, May 5, 2022 after being relieved of his fight with cancer. Phillip was born on February 22, 1965 in Columbus, Mississippi to Ada Faye Bryant and Phillip Ray Eaves, Sr. He graduated from Millport High School in the Class of 1983 and studied Cosmetology at Lamar Technical School. Phillip served his country as a member of the United States Navy aboard the USS Jason. He went on to be a cosmetologist and then a master painter at Painters, Etc. in Birmingham, Alabama. Phillip attended Peoples Church in Gordo, Alabama.

Known as son, dad, brother, Phil, Uncle Phil, "Unc", "Flip", and lastly "Pip" - not Pop, "Pip"- by  his great-niece and twin great-nephews. Phillip seldom met a stranger and could love anyone "where they're at". He adored children and helping others. He prided himself on "making things happen" for the people he cared about. Phillip was loving, generous and selfless and he will always be remembered as the "funny man" with a beautiful sense of humor who could laugh at even himself.

Phillip is survived by his son, Nathaniel Ryan Eaves, mother Ada Faye Walker, sisters, Phyliana Fay Wheeler (Michael) and Phyllis Delk (Randy), brothers, Philip Scott Eaves (Heidi), Don Conway (Debbie), Jimmy Waker, Danny Walker, Gary Martin and John Matychowiak and a host of foster siblings, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews who loved him very much.

He is preceded in death by his fathers, Phillip Ray Eaves, Sr. and James Robert Walker, Sr., foster sister, Valerie Ann Lawson and his nephew, James Robert Walker, III.

A service for family was held Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama.
