Phillip Ray Partain, 77, of Millport, Alabama,  passed away on February 6, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi surrounded by his children. Visitation will be Monday evening, February 8, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home with Bro. Lenwood Gilliland officiating. The body will lie in state from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Millport City Cemetery.

Phillip was born December 25, 1943 in Hackleburg, Alabama to Thaman and Willie Mae Partain. He was a long-time resident of Millport, AL. He went to school in Hackleburg and after graduation, joined the U.S. Army. He retired after 10 years of service. He then worked and retired from Holley Performance in Aberdeen, MS. He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church in Gordo, AL. He loved his family, fishing and Alabama football.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Sherry Stringer (Jimmy), Vickey Stripling (Gary) and Misty Johnson. Two sisters, Peggy Kennedy and Judy Hawley, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 32 years, Ann Partain, a daughter, Sharon Partain, sisters Kathy Swinney, Sue Jackson and one brother, Dennis Partain.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Stringer, Gary Stripling, Austin Stringer, Justin Stripling, Everette Cribb and Blaze Reynolds.
