Ray Donald Stokes, 78, of Ethelsville AL., passed away on August 5, 2017 in Pickensville AL.
Born April 20th, 1939 to the late Vade Stokes and Beatrice Smith Stokes, he was married to Imogene Shaw Stokes.
Ray Donald Stokes was a loving, hard-working man dedicated to providing for his family. He was a chicken farmer with his loving wife of 50 years, Imogene Shaw Stokes. He retired from Weyerhaeuser after 27 years of service to do what he loved most; fishing, camping & talking and talking and talking... He was a long-time church member and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Stokes is preceded in death by his loving wife, Imogene Stokes and parents Vade and Beatrice Stokes.
He is survived by his Significant Other and best friend Carley Browning, Daughters; Kathy(Kenneth) Donour, Kristina(TJ) Wimbs, and Karen(Terry) Turner, Sons; Kevin Stokes and Kenny(Lacey) Stokes, Sisters; Linda Hutto and Sandra(Steve) Crowley, and Brother Readus(Carolyn) Stokes. Eight Grandchildren; Kristopher (Ladawn), Kelly (Brian), Kyle (Taylor), Kendrick, Kolson, Kaleb, Karson and Ayden, 12 Great grandchildren, and one Great Great grandchild
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Dowdle Funeral Home of Millport AL. the body will lie in state one hour prior. The visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00PM on August 7 at Dowdle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Millport City Cemetery.
