Raybon Dee Blanton, 82, passed away at Windsor Place in Columbus, MS on November 5, 2022. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on November 8, 2022 at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel with Bro. Mike Dalton and Bro. Melvin Mordecai officiating. Graveside services will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Millport, Alabama under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.

Raybon was born on January 31, 1940 in Millport, Alabama to Freeman Blanton and Opal Bolen Blanton. He was an Army veteran and retired mechanic from Mt. Vernon Mills. Raybon was an avid Crimson Tide fan and he loved to hunt. He was a member of McBee Baptist Church in Columbus, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Janie Sue Blanton, brothers Jerry and Bobby Joe Blanton, sister Cathy Bell and nephew Shane Blanton.

He is survived by a brother, Wayne Blanton (Shirley), Columbus, MS., a sister, Jo Ann Sullivan (Randy England), Clarksville, TN., and sister-in-law Marie Blanton, Millport, AL., nieces, Donna Vickery (Mahlon), Tina Slane (Mark), Tonya Davis (Berry), Jaime Mobley (John), nephews Jeff Sullivan (Priscilla) and Matthew Bell, several great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers are Berry Davis, Mark Slane, Jeff Sullivan, Jason Smith, Corey Davis and Shae Slane.

Honorary Pallbearers are past members of State Line Hunting Club.
