It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Sandra Renee Agerton Steelmon, of Kennedy, AL, on January 15, 2024 at Northwest Regional Health in Winfield, AL. She was born on June 1, 1966 in Fayette, AL. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL. with Bro. David Long officiating and Bro. Jeff Long assisting.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will follow at Meadow Branch Cemetery in Kennedy, AL. Following the funeral there will be a reception to celebrate Renee's life with her family and friends at the Historical Building in Kennedy, Alabama.

Renee was well known and loved by everyone that knew her. Her work ethic and love for people were two of her greatest attributes. Growing up in the area and throughout her life, Renee served our community and gained many friendships through her work. You were always guaranteed a smile and a good laugh before you could get away. She had a passion for nature and enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, and watching hummingbirds. During her free time, not spent working or helping others, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and making memories!

She is preceded in death by her husband Bob Steelmon, her father Darrell Agerton, her step-father, Lee Hodges and step-brother Ronnie Conley.

She is survived by her close friend, Jody Sudduth (Millport), her children Justin Bowen (Chasity), Vernon, AL., Samantha Bowen Brand, Kennedy, AL., Chelsea Steelmon, Kennedy, AL. , her mother, Margaret  Trull Hodges, Kennedy, AL, her step-mother Ruthie Agerton, Illinois, and her bothers Jimmy Agerton (Sheri), Arkansas, Donnie Weaver (Marnie), Florence,  and Phillip Hodges (Alex), Kennedy, AL. and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Konner Phelps, Trilon Sanford, Chase Winters, Dylon Stripling and Christian Ray.

Funeral services will be held at Dowdle Funeral home in Millport, AL on Saturday, Jan 20, 2024. Visitation will be from 12pm-1pm and the services will begin at 1pm
