Ricky was born July 20, 1953, in Macon, Mississippi. He attended Aliceville High School. While attending Aliceville Pentecostal Church, he met and later married Christi Hall. They were married for 12 years and had one daughter. They moved from Aliceville to Vidalia, LA where Ricky began pursuing his passion for music. He performed on the radio and TV show "The Louisiana Hayride". Through the years, he wrote many country music songs. One of his songs entitled "My Love" was recorded and performed by the group,  Little Texas.

Later in his life he moved to Columbus, MS. where he loved to sing for his many friends at several locations around town. He was a loyal friend, always helping those in need. He was honored and proud that he got to raise Tyler Brasfield. They shared their love for Alabama football. Also, in his spare time, he loved to deer hunt. You might find him in a green field or on the side of the road looking for a deer.

He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great- grandfather. As a dad, he was the rock you could always count on; just a phone call away. He was deeply loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
