With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Robbie Dean Vail, who entered her heavenly home at the age of 88.
Dean was born on December 13, 1937, in Vernon, Alabama, to William Jefferson Glasgow and Edna Earl Glasgow, one of thirteen children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend whose life was a testament to faith, love, and service to others.
Dean shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, Bobby Vail. Together they built a loving family and a life centered on faith and devotion. Mother to three daughters Gail Vail, Belinda Hancock (Ray) and Teresa Thomas (Tyron); her cherished grandchildren, Chad Hancock ( Katie) , Holly Reeves (Bobby), Ramie Daniels (Gabriel), Anna Tate (Tyler) and Abby Shaw (Justin); as well as 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews who brought her immense joy and pride.
Some of her most memorable moments were earning her GED at the age of 51 and retiring as a Supervisor from United Technology.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love and kindness that will continue to live on in those who knew her. She spoke often and openly about how the Lord had blessed her and her family. Her faith was woven into every part of her life, and she lived each day with gratitude of His goodness.
Pallbearers will be Chad Hancock, Bobby Reeves, Gabriel Daniels, Tyler Tate, Justin Shaw, Fisher Godfrey and Briggs Shaw.
Known for her kind heart, determination, and unwavering faith, Dean’s home was filled with treasured keepsakes, gospel music, and the love of family and friends.Dean will always be remembered for her gentle smile, caring spirit and warm embrace. While she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, we find comfort and peace in knowing that she is safely home with her Lord and Savior.
A special thank you to the health care providers at Windsor and Community Hospice who showed so much compassion and care.

There will be a funeral service on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Springhill Baptist Church in Millport, AL with Bro. Matthew Fancher officiating and Bro. Drew Moore assisting. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Springhill Baptist Church. Burial will follow immediately after the service in the church cemetery.
