Sarah Catherine Foster Junkin passed away peacefully at her son's residence in Vancleave,  Mississippi on October 28, 2019. She was born in Kennedy, Alabama on February 8, 1932 to Emmit and Swan Wilson Foster. She was the second of 10 children.

She married James Gilbert Junkin in 1950 and was married for 56 years before his death in May of 2006.

She had three children, five grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She was primarily a house wife and stay at home mother, although she held multiple part time jobs over her life. She loved her family and grandchildren and instilled in her family a strong belief in her Lord Jesus Christ. She was a life-long Baptist and member of Kennedy Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Gilbert Junkin, parents, Emmit and Swann Foster, and brothers Ray Foster, Rayford Foster, and James Foster. She is survived in death by her children Ronald (Linda) Junkin, Randy Junkin, and Rhonda (Thomas) Beasley, her grandchildren Jason (Dyana) Junkin, Jeremy (Nina) Junkin, Emily (Jeremy) Holliman, Jana Beasley, and Jarod (Kristen) Beasley, seven great grandchildren, and siblings Miriam (Gene) Nabors, Brenda (Ronny) Pitts, Joan Myers, Bobby (Geraldine) Foster, Doug (Betty) Foster, and Andy (JoAnn) Foster and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held October 31, 2019 at Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, AL with visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am and the funeral service immediately following. There will be no graveside service. Brother Mike Hall and Brother Ralph Windle will officiate the service. Pall bearers are Jason Junkin, Jeremy Junkin, Jarod Beasley, Bronner Junkin, Sawyer Junkin, Brody Junkin, and Ryker Junkin.

Interment is in Kennedy City Cemetary
