Shirley Olivia Sutton, 74, of Kennedy, AL, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Fayette Long Term Care in Fayette, AL. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Nabors and Judy Elmore officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow at Meadow Branch Cemetery in Kennedy, AL. All arrangements are under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.

Shirley was born on March 26, 1951 in Gordo, AL to James and Gertrude Sutton. She grew up in Kennie Hill community of Gordo. She spent many years working at TG&Y and later Walmart where she made lasting friendships and helped countless customers. She was a long time member of Kennie Hill Church where she served as secretary. She loved The Lord and her church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and helping others.

She is survived by her son Michael (Jessica) Foster; grandchildren Hannah (Alex) Foster, Makyla Foster, Lacey DuBose, Tamara Eads, Jake (Leia) DuBose; great grandchildren Noah Foster, Colson Smith; brother Bob (Charlene) Sutton, sisters MaeBell (Thomas) Hannah and Susie (Chip) McDaniel and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Gertrude Sutton, brother William Sutton and sister Joann Conklin.

Pallbearers are Jake Dubose, Alex Smith, Christopher Baines, Chris Sutton, Dustin McDaniel and Daniel Johnson. Honorary Pallbearer is the Staff of Fayette Long Term Care.
