Sidney Plyler, 97, of Kennedy, AL, passed away on November 26, 2024, in Tuscaloosa, AL. There will be a private graveside service held to honor her life and memory on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Millport City Cemetery with Dr. Bill Thetford officiating.

Sidney worked for Phifer Incorporated for 62 years before retiring at the age of 89 years old. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she served for many years as  church treasurer. Her passion in life was to be a faithful witness of love, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to people she worked with, to international students, to family members and to the community. She invested her life and time in people where the Lord has rewarded her with spiritual children and grandchildren from different parts of the world, testifying to the Bible verse, "For it is written; 'Rejoice, O barren, You who do not bear! Break forth and shout, You who are not in labor! For the desolate has many more children than she who has a husband." Galatians 4:27. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests as many memorial gifts be made to any charity of your choice.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Lester Plyler, Henry Plyler, and Monroe Plyler; and her sisters Pauline Billingsley, Murlee Fields, Kathleen Davis, and Betty Plyler.

She is survived by her nephews Alton Plyler (Joyce), Dennis Plyler (Donna); and neices , Henri Jane Dyson (John), Carolyn Underwood (Joel), and Sandra Moskal (Matt).
