Susan Ayers, 69, of Millport, AL, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. There will be a visitation on Sunday, August 3, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, August 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Cole officiating. The body will lie-in-state from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Christian Chapel Church Cemetery in Millport, AL. All services are under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home.

Susan loved her family fiercely and was always their biggest supporter. She made friends everywhere she went and was always full of fun and laughter. Her many years as being post master in various towns left her with many fiends that she cherished dearly. Susan was an avid Alabama fan and enjoyed game days in the fall yelling Roll Tide! Her love and laughter will be missed by everyone that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ravis and Betty Ayers, and her brother, David Ayers.

She is survived by her sons, Heath Crowe (Hebo) and Chuck Crowe; two sisters, Sandra Spears and Karen Hall; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Crowe, Dustin Crowe, Ross Evans, Jason Ayers, Matt Weathers, and George Prater.
