IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Terry
Robinson
December 6, 1954 – September 6, 2025
Terry Robinson, 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 6, 2025 at his residence in Millport, AL.
Terry was born on December 6, 1954 in Columbus, MS. He was a long-time employee of Weyerhaeuser Company outside of Columbus, Mississippi. He was a member and associate pastor of Higdon Church of God in Kennedy, AL.
He wasn't one for titles or any kind of special recognition. As a matter of fact, any special attention directed toward him made him uncomfortable. The only person he chose to put forth was Jesus Christ. And even though he was considered by many to be the associate pastor of his church, he never boasted of that fact. He considered himself merely a servant of the Lord. Dedicated to church, he tried to fulfill his ministry with whatever needed doing. Whether preaching behind the pulpit, leading a congregational hymn or singing a song, as long as it glorified the Lord, he was whole heartedly in it. He wore many hats in our church as teacher, treasurer and mediator. He had a tender heart toward the Lord and toward others.
And not only in the church but everywhere he went, he wanted people to see Jesus in him. Whether on the job, at the nursing home or visiting with others or at home among family and friends, it was Jesus he wanted to radiate out of his life. But he also had a wry wit and could see things through a humorous lens that others might have overlooked. And though he suffered long with illness, he kept his faith up to the end.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Ray B. Robinson and Billie Jean Robinson of Millport, Alabama. He is survived by his wife, Lois, his daughters Jessica (Josh) Knopp of Millport and Faith (Micah) Hall of Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Six grandchildren Manuel Hall, Gracelyn Hall, Nathanael Knopp, Abigal Knopp, Ariel Knopp and one grandchild on the way. His brother Tim (Jennie) Robinson of Millport and a host of family and friends.
There will be a visitation on Monday, September 8, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home with Terry Knopp, Joshua Knopp and Jeff Long officiating. Burial will follow at Higdon Church of God Cemetery in Kennedy, AL.
Pallbearers are Ray Vice, Brian Gault, Ronnie Barrett, Kenny A. Stripling, Manuel Hall and Nate Knopp. Honorary pallbearers are the men of Higdon Church of God and Ray "Smokey" Trull.
