Thomas W. Hughes, 76, of Kennedy, Alabama, passed away on December 6, 2020 at his residence. There will be a private family graveside service on December 10, 2020 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery in Palmetto, AL.

Tommy was born on February 6, 1944 in Reform, Alabama to Walter Garon and Dora Mae (Colvin) Hughes. Bro. Hughes was a Baptist preacher for over 40 years. He also worked for Golden Flake Snack Foods for 40 years. He loved gardening and fishing. He loved to speak about Jesus and welcomed conversations regarding the Bible. Tommy loved to attend old fashioned gospel singings and have a good time in the Lord. He was a friend to all and was so loved and appreciated.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Geneva McDaniel and Betty Sue Brazeal and brothers, Alexander (Buddy) Hughes and E.J. Hughes.

He is survived by his wife Mary Angelyn (Aldridge) Hughes, two daughters, Risa Rast (Christopher) and Sonya Steger (Tyrone), a sister, Evelyn Shelton (Eugene), two grandchildren Mackenzie and Logan Steger.
