Obituary
Mrs. Tressie Moore Rushing, age 86, of Kennedy died Monday, September 1, 2014 at Fayette Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 10:00am in the Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Raymond Spann will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Meadow Branch Cemetery, located on County Road 49, Kennedy.
A native of Fayette County, Alabama, Mrs. Rushing was born September 30, 1927 to the late Walter C. and Nancy Howton Moore. She was a graduate of Mt. Vernon School and attended Meadow Branch Missionary Baptist Church. She worked for Westinghouse Corporation in Reform and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Hal Rushing; sisters Irene Porter, Vaudine Porter, Mattie Lou Baty, Disie Parrish and brothers Robert, Ernest and Banks Moore.
She leaves behind two sons, Mike (Nancy) Rushing of Kennedy and Jeff (Tina) Rushing of Guin, 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Phillip, Scott, and Stanley Rushing, Kelvin Parham, Larry Bradfield and Steve Foster.
