Aldridge
May 27, 1944 – July 20, 2022
Wanda Moucha Aldridge, age 78, went to be with the Lord during a prayer meeting at Springhill Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.
Wanda was born on May 27,1944, in Millport, Alabama. She graduated from Millport High School. She married David Aldridge and had two children, Traci Aldridge and Brad Aldridge. Wanda worked for the "telephone company" in Millport. She spent some time as a florist and served as a local EMT to the South Lamar Rescue Squad. She also worked at Ned Hardin Appliance and Baptist Memorial Hospital. In recent years, she volunteered weekly at Baptist Hospice - Golden Triangle.
Wanda will perhaps be remembered most for serving as the pianist for Springhill Baptist Church. Other hobbies included attending church gatherings and singings, eating Mexican food with friends, and sharing her life stories. Wanda enjoyed life to the fullest and found a way to laugh in the hardest of situations. She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She loved them deeply, and they certainly loved her. She was known by her closest friends as "Wanda Faye" and by a few as "Wild Wanda." She brought joy into the lives of those who knew her, and she will be missed by all who knew her..
Wanda is survived by her beloved daughter Traci Aldridge, her dear sister-in-law, Betty Moucha, and also many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. .
Wanda is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years David Aldridge, her son Brad, her parents Joe and Jimmie Lou Moucha, and her brothers, Paul and Alfred Moucha.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering at Springhill Baptist Church on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation and viewing will be in the sanctuary at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Springhill Cemetery. Flowers can be sent to Springhill Baptist Church. Donations can be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 38607 or Baptist Hospice - Golden Triangle, 2309 Bluecutt Road, Suite B, Columbus, MS 39705.
Pallbearers will be Mike Jaynes, Edwin Markham, Jackson McCool, Deshawn Moucha, Josh McManus, and Matt Newman.
Honorary Pallbearers are James Huguley, Mike Gartman, and other men of Springhill Baptist Church.
