David Dye, 71, of Millport, AL, passed away on February 2, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his wife and close friends. There will be a graveside service on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Millport City Cemetery with Pastor Roy Bush officiating. The family will meet at Dowdle Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m.

David was born February 16, 1952 to the late Benjamin and Beth Dye. David spent his childhood years in Thompson, Georgia and later attended North Texas State University. He had a successful career as a district manager for Oakwood Homes from which he retired. He served in the Air National Guard for several years. David was a golfer and a long time Alabama fan. He also was a great cook and enjoyed playing with his dog, Major. He was a member of Propst Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Prater Dye; two sons, Scott (Lindsay) Dye and Jayson Ferguson; daughter, Laurie (Dusty) Williams; and four grandchildren, Gavin Dye, Ella Dye, Jackson Williams, and Jay Ryan Williams, and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Beth Dye and two brothers, Robert and Jimmy Dye.

Pallbearers will be David Prater, Bert Prater, Ben Prater, Mark Prater, Lynn Boman, Dusty Williams, and Keith Acker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Care Wear Ministry at Propst Methodist Church at 131 Wood Drive, Millport, AL, 35576.
