William Jerry Owens Sr., 80 of Columbus, Mississippi died on Monday, April 24, 2017 in Killen, AL.
Born in Lamar County, on Monday, October 26, 1936, to the late Mr. Jack and Inez Holman Owens. Jerry worked a number of years as a line foreman at Airline Manufacturing and was a Baptist
Surviving are, Wife; Margaret Dison Owens, son, William Jerry Owens, Jr., (Ann), daughter, Tammy Brooks of Columbus, MS, brother, Ricky Owens, (Sharon) of Millport, AL, sisters, Jeannette Parker of Millport, Al., Mattie Ruth Rogers,(Billy) of Millport, AL, Dorsey Watkins of Fayette, AL and Debra Long (Billy Dean) of Kennedy, AL; 10 grand children; 14 great grand children.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Dowdle Funeral Home. Interment will be in Meadow Branch Cemetery, Kennedy, AL., with Rev. Chester Shaw Officiating
Mr. Owens is preceded in death by his father, Jack Owens, mother, Inez Owens, son, Terry Owens Sr., son-in-law, Billy Brooks, and granddaughter, Brandy Thomas.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Dowdle Funeral Home, 270 McAdams Street Millport, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Robert Owens Jr., Josh Brooks, Tony Hanback ,Mason Hanback, Fernando Wolf, Alex Martinez.
Honorary Pallbearers are Steven Hanback, Marvin Hanback, Ray Terry, Ivy Coleman, Shelly Woods, Allen Woods, Logan Hanback.
The family would like to think Alacare Hospice for their skillful and professional care they provided for their loved one.
