Kay Dowdle
President / Owner
Kay is a lifelong native of Millport, Alabama, and graduated from Millport High School in 1981. She's always enjoyed serving her community, working at her mother's restaurant, Glenda's Legendary Grill, and also at Joe Golden's Drugs. She attends Millport Church of Christ, where she's been an active member for the last five decades.
In 1996, she married George Dowdle and together they had two sons, Sam and Jack. After George's passing in 2018, she decided to continue his family's legacy by taking over as the owner of Dowdle Funeral Home. Kay strives to offer families comfort during their time of need with compassion and professionalism.

Donald McAdams
Funeral Director and Embalmer
Donald Mac is the funeral director and embalmer at Dowdle Funeral Home, where he's served the surrounding area for more than 60 years. He and his wife Barbara are members of Millport Baptist Church, where he serves as a deacon, and together they raised two daughters. Donald Mac takes pride in serving his community.

Jack is currently pursuing his degree in Mortuary Science and Funeral Management. He hopes to contribute to the Dowdle legacy, as the fourth generation owner and director. Having grown up and watched his father provide outstanding service to his community, it instilled a desire in him to continue helping families in their time of need.

Despite being busy with his professional studies, he remains committed to helping with the family business in his free time. He hopes to return to Millport one day and continue supporting both his family and community.

Janet Thomas
Secretary
Janet joined the Dowdle Funeral Home staff in 2019 as our secretary. She and her husband Jimmy are faithful members of Kennedy Baptist Church and have two sons, Josh and James. Janet has been a great addition to the staff and is always available to help however she can.

Nicky Leonard
Funeral Director and Embalmer
Nicky is a 2022 graduate of Jefferson State Community College where he has a degree in Mortuary Science. He began working at Dowdle Funeral Home in 2020 and upon completing his studies he became a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He and his wife Haley have one son, Carson.
